Suicide Note

by Christopher
(Lebanon)

There's nothing we can do;

Doctor said he's done;
The kid was already through;
Now he'll be gone;
It's sad that someone like that;
Could end in such a way;
He'll never call, never be back;
And his only words to say;

He told his loved ones;
That he'll be looking down on them;
After the fight he won;
And all he wanted was his freedom;
He told his love;
To never look back to the past;
He'll be looking from above;
Hoping that the days pass fast;
He told everyone he's done;
He's had enough of the hate;
The next day he was gone;
All he blamed it on was fate;
Everyone cried after they read;
His suicide note;
They didn't know what he had in his head;
To write the words he wrote;

Next day a bully came down;
Crying his eyes out;
He was never seen in town;
After he got lost in the crowd;
He admits he bullied the suicidal;
So much that he made him die;
What he did was nothing but awful;
Until the next day when the soul flies;
And the bully took those pills;
Didn't want to live with the guilt;
And now he no longer will;

He told the people he bullied;
That he never meant to pick on them;
That his life should be buried;
And all he wanted to give was freedom;
He told his love;
To never look back to the past;
That he never put anybody else above;
Hoping that the days pass fast;
He told everyone he's done;
He's given enough hate;
The next day he was gone;
All he blamed it on was fate;
Everyone cried after they read;
His suicide note;
They didn't know what he had in his head;
To write the words he wrote;

Now it's so easy to see;
How words can kill someone's life;
It can ruin someone's destiny;
Killing a soul that was happily alive;
It's so crystal
clear;
That hate was no game;
The two kids were no longer here;
And life was never the same;
Words hurt more than they seem;
So be careful about what you say;
Even though it won't look extreme;
It won't make another person stay;
Now the kids will never be forgotten;
After what happened in this town;
And the lesson that we've gotten;
Was to never let our souls drown;
Cause just like that kid;
Always tried and hid;
But there came a day;
When all he had to say;

He told his loved ones;
That he'll be looking down on them;
After the fight he won;
And all he wanted was his freedom;
He told his love;
To never look back to the past;
He'll be looking from above;
Hoping that the days pass fast;
He told everyone he's done;
He's had enough of the hate;
The next day he was gone;
All he blamed it on was fate;
Everyone cried after they read;
His suicide note;
They didn't know what he had in his head;
To write the words he wrote.

Christopher,

Thanks so much for sharing this very powerful and touching poem. Bullying is something that needs to be stopped because, as you so creatively wrote, it can have such a negative impact on people. It has such a strong impact on someones self esteem and sense of self worth. Bullying in person, cyber-bullying...they are all just horrible things to do.

People need to remember that we are all human, we all have weaknesses and we should all reach out and support each other. Respect each other and know that noone is perfect.

I hope that you continue to spread the word and stand up for those that are bullied. Just a little support and kindness can go a long, long way.

I wish you all the best and thank you again for sharing with me and all of the visitors.

All the best,

Dana
