Depression

by Kimberly
(Kalamazoo, Mi)

I'm sick and tired of your threats
and your lies,
I wish there were a way
we could completely sever ties.

Life would be brighter,
less gloom, more hope.
I hate what you do to me
it's really no joke.

You lie to me and say
that "I'm no good."
you say "no one would care"
and "that I should."

You tell me to do things
I know are not right,
You cause me to question
what is wrong from what is right.

You say "I am worthless"
and "deserve to die,"
that "my life doesn't matter"
and I begin to cry.

I know that you're lying to me,
I know it's not true.
Depression you WON'T win,
I choose ME over you.
