Depression Poems:
The Tarnished Crown

by Claire
(UK)

You pull me back with bearing weight holding me down,

You wont budge, move or relinquish
a constant fight or flight for freedom
carrying you around - like a heavy tarnished crown

As much as I buff the imperfections away
it's a wasted task, a wasted day

I'll carry you until you're willing to change
but won't wear you

You are a burden loyal thriving on pain
You won't win, you are not real
You're simply a feeling in vein
