Depression Poems: Hollow

by Emptiness Lives
(Texas)

As I laugh, my hot tears burn trails through my broken heart. The joy of my face becomes routine and it is a continual disease.

The mask that is covering the horror beneath is slipping away and I am paralyzed in fear that someone knows. Terrible secrets that plague me are being revealed.

They know what hurts me but they can't see how much pain. I am withering away like a rose in the fire. My life is a hollow shell waiting to crumble into total darkness and be forever lost to the world.
