You Hurt Me

YOU HURT ME

Please take the pain from my heart,
I have tried and tried for a new start.
Your words that hurt me make me cry.
They hurt so bad I want to die.

People who hurt me don't really know.
What I am made of does not show.
It's deep inside me in my soul.
Just like a diamond made from coal.

Mental health is not understood.
I am still a good person, I am good.
Your not in my shoes you don't know.
Deep depression does not show

My worth to you does not matter.
You can't hurt me, I won't shatter.
Knock me down, I'll get back up.
I am stronger now, not a tea cup.

I look for love, it's all around.
My family, my wife can be found.

The old me is gone but that's ok.
I won't live life for yesterday.
