(HOUSTON TX)

ME AND MY WIFE HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 12 YEARS NOW. JUST FIVE DAYS AGO SHE TELLS ME THAT SHE THINKS ITS IN OUR BEST THAT WE GO OUR OWN WAYS DUE TO MONEY ISSUES. I THOUGHT WHEN A COUPLE HAS ISSUE YOU WORK THEM OUT TOGETHER. I FEEL LIKE MY LIFE HAS COME TO AN END.

I CANT SLEEP, EAT OR THINK. MY 9 YEAR OLD LITTLE GIRL IS HURT OF THE NEWS MY WIFE TOLD HER. THAT KILLS ME TO SEE HER DOWN AND OUT. WISH I COULD TAKE THE PAIN AWAY FROM ME AND MY BABY GIRL. I LOVE MY FAMILY SO MUCH AND CANT LOSE THEM.

DON'T KNOW WHAT ESLE TO DO OR SAY TO KEEP US TOGETHER. MY BABY GIRL WANTS TO COME STAY AND LIVE WITH ME NOT HER MOTHER WHAT DO I DO? SHE SAID WE CAN BE A COUPLE BUT NOT LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSE. AM I WRONG TO THINK THERE IS ANY MAN IN THE PICTURE FOR THIS TO HAVE CHANGED SO FAST?

DON'T KNOW ANY ONE OUT THERE IN THE SAME BOAT AS ME. I NEED HELP OR WORDS OF WISDOM. I SHOW MY WIFE AT ALL TIMES THAT I LOVE HER AND NEVER GET TIRED OF TELLING HER SHE IS MY LIFE AND HOW MUCH I LOVE HER. I HAVE A BIG HEART AND ALWAY HAVE.

LORD GIVE ME THE STRENGTH THAT I HAVE LOST.

Jose,

My heart goes out to you and your family. The ending of a marriage can bring up a whole host of feelings and can be very difficult to process.

While I don't know what triggered her desire to leave the relationship it does sound like her mind is made up. At the end of the day, it is always best to handle things as peacefully and fairly as possible so that you minimize the impact to your baby girl.

Have you suggested pursuing couples therapy? Even if the decision is to divorce, therapy can be very helpful in ensuring that the process is a smooth one. If she is not open to that, I'd recommend you pursue individual therapy so that you have a safe, objective way to process all of your own feelings.

I hope that other visitors can offer you some support. My wish for you is that the lord gives you the strength that you have asked for. While I know you are in a lot of pain right now, one day you will look back on this time in your life and realize that it was all meant to be. Remember, when God closes a door he always opens a window!

Wishing you the best,

Dana
